Did you install the TOCA2 demo AFTER the CMR demo by any chance?
I had a similar problem with the full CMR game after installing the TOCA2
demo. They both use a file called QMIXER.DLL which they install in the
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. It seems the TOCA2 demo version of this file
does not work with CMR so if you install the TOCA2 demo after CMR it
overwrites it and CMR no longer produces certain sounds properly.
If you do have both demos I would suggest uninstalling both of them,
re-installing CMR first and copying the QMIXER.DLL file from your
WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory into the CODEMASTERS\CMRALLY directory, then
re-installing the TOCA2 demo. With the full CMR game I solved it by simply
copying the file from the CD.
It seems that if CMR finds QMIXER.DLL in it's own directory it will use that
in preference to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM copy.
Hope this helps.......Mark
BTW - Colin is the driver not the co-driver...hence the game's name Colin
McRae Rally :-) The co-driver is Nicky Grist - a damned fine Welshman like
myself :-)
