NR2002 Servers and LANs

by Phil Le » Mon, 29 Apr 2002 18:48:20

Here's what I want to do.  I have 2 PC's, my regular racing box and my old
PC I use as an occasional server. When practising GPL against the AI I use
my server box to host a local race on my LAN. This moves all the AI
processing to the server box giving me rock solid framerates on my race box.
I want to do the same thing for NR2002.

I can get it to work by running the dedicated server on my server box. I can
join the race as a local race. Unfortunately the race also appears on Sierra
which I don't want. Is there any way to prevent a dedicated server race from
appearing on the Sierra race list?  Obviously I can create a password and
limit the number of players to 1 to prevent others joining in but it seems
pointless to have it listed on Sierra too.

I believe John Simmons' DeMons tool has a checkbox for this ?

You can also change this line in your core.ini from 1 to 0:

to_sierra=1 (1 = Sierra; 0 = IP only)
