My setup is:
Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Steering Wheel (gameport version)
Logitech Wingman Force 3D Joystick (usb version)
My problem is that the controller I wish to use needs to be #1 in the
ids list in control panel.
If both controllers are installed, the wheel always grabs the #1 spot.
This is fine for Grand Prix Legends, but not so good for Combat Flight
Simulator! :-(
I try to renumber the wheel as #3, with a view to then renumbering the
stick as #1. However, all that happens is that I get two wheels, as #1
AND #3. Aaaargh!!!
Does anyone have any good answer to this? It seems like the whole
game controller thing in Windows is naff.
John
P.S. I did use a non-feedback joystick, which apparently worked fine
as controller #2. However, I now discover that the game was
'officially' seeing the wheel but actually also responded to the
stick.
BUT, with that setup, using the feedback stick, no feedback effects
are felt. ???
