Converting GP2 & GP3 for GPL ___ what is the latest?

I read some time ago that some people were converting tracks from
Grand Prix 2 and Grand Prix 3 to work with Grand Prix Legends.

What is the latest with those prople and their projects?  I haven't
heard anything since.  Did something pop out of the programming that
made such a thing impossible?
