Can't Autorun CD's after Nascar Rev Demo Install

Installed Nascar Revolution demo in my two PC's and now none of my CD's
autorun.

If I right click on them in explorer, the autoplay option is missing.

Anyone run into this??

Well you can go to your CD rom properties and turn it back on.

Huh. I had installed Nascar Revolution (the game not the demo) and my
Autorun still works. Maybe my Dell is engineered better. Ok just joking
(inside
joke for flightsimmers).

You are right about the registry entry. It must be in there somewhere,
but so far I have not been able to find it. You may want to check it with
TweakUI. Also it might be worth unchecking the autorun box, shutdown
and restart, then re-check the autorun box. It may be able to get reset
that way.

I'll keep checking though. Hey and I even took a registry class a
month ago! You can never know it all...

Doh, I wondered why my autorun stopped working.  Same here, it is
checked but won't autorun.  Damn demo was only on my pc for 5 minutes.

OK here is is! Try:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\SCSI

You should find your CDrom defined there. Look for the
AutoInsertNotification
setting.

>Thanks. I just found it on mine in:
>NODRIVETYPEAUTORUN in the registry. I have
>an IDE CD Rom ..

OK I saw that but didn't think it was the right one :-)

BTW, W98 and NT consider IDE cdroms to be SCSI
devices.

In NT you will actually see the driver defined by opening
the SCSI icon in the control panel. W98 apparently considers
the same as I found my CD rom at the \Enum\SCSI registry
entry which I described earlier. I too have an IDE CD rom.

Funny you mention that, when I installed I lost complete use of both of my
cd rom drives.  Required a formating of the hard drive.

Exactly how does reformatting you harddrive allow you to use your
CDroms again? I never heard of that one.
