Recognizing COM2 in N2 for modem play?

by Christopher Costel » Tue, 25 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I have a slight problem with NASCAR2 recognizing my modem on COM1.
When I go into modem setup, the only option I have for the modem is
COM2.  From my Windows95 system directory, it looks to me that the
port should be COM1 and I can dial onto internet, but I can get N2 to
call so I can race with a modem partner.  Does anyone have a similar
problem?

Thanks

I've run across this problem on a buddies system.  I eventually had to
configure the modem to operate on COM 2 IRQ 3 to be successful.  It was
originally on COM 3 IRQ 4, and worked fine in Win'95 but Nascar 2 wouldn't
initialize the modem.

I have seen this problem on a buddy's computer.  We had to (after MUCH
troubleshooting) configure the modem to COM 2 IRQ 3.  Then everything
worked fine.
