I have a crappy computer and have to play N2 in low res, will this
affect modem play against someone running in hi-res?

Thanks

I read a posting about this from Papyrus . They said  it makes no
difference in the performance the only disadvantage is that you are not
able to see the track as well. This will be a disadvantage in that it will
be harder to hit the right line into the corner. A bad frame rate will also
do this, but I would gladly give up a good frame rate for SVGA.

I used to think that too, but after struggling with a very inconsistant
car, I dropped down to vga and after a short while got much smoother,
which translates to faster lap times.  Framerate = speed.
