NR2002 framerate

I have a Dell 8200 with 2.0 mhz, and 128 mb of ram. I only get about 25 to
35 fps, depending on the track. If I get more ram would that increse my
frame rate

What is a good frame rate at Taladega and Martinsville

1st of all, I assume you mean a 2 Ghz.  128MB ram is pretty light by todays standards, 256-512 is
much more the norm these days.  You need to include your video card in your description, your
in-game settings (resolution, color depth, drawing distance, which rasterizer you're using)for
NR2002, and your OS.  IMO, when you start dipping below 30-35 it gets much harder to drive, a GOOD
fps would be 60-70, but there is no upper limit, many guys can get 100fps or higher.

Laptop?  Try to get away from the idea of playing games on this ;)

Even worse ;)

Not amazingly.  What graphics card do you have?  This makes the most
difference.

As I said, if it's a laptop (Dell 8200 sounds like a laptop model to me)
give up playing games on it and be thankful you're getting 25fps ;)

If you mean what is a reasonably frame rate to be playing at, anything above
30fps is fine.

If you mean what is _nice_ to play at (for full smoothness) then that all
depends on your setup.  I get between 100 and 130fps with a full field.

Desktop model.

You didn't even say the type of video card, or if you have one of
those that are integrated on the motherboard.  If you have an
intergrated video card, its no wonder.  Also 128 mb ram is a joke for
a system that is likely running windows xp.  Do a little more homework
before you buy a pc.

Translation.......

"Hi Ron

You're not providing us with enough information about your computer to
enable us to help you much, if you could list the specs for your
computer we might be able to make some helpful suggestions, the most
important thing being the video card and the settings you are using

You really need a decent video card to run NR2002, so if you have a
buildt in video card you can't expect too much, but if you're prepared
to spend a little money you *can* get the GF4MX in a PCI variant to
replace it, it's not the best card out there for NR2002, but it would
most likely be better than the buildt in one

Also, 128 MB of RAM is really not enough these days and you should think
about upgrading to 256 or better, especially considering how cheap RAM
is these days"
