I'd be curious to hear from anyone running NR2002 demo with a Voodoo5
card, regarding their frame rates.

I set the graphics exactly the same between N4 and NR2002, at Atlanta,
in training mode, and there seems to be a drop of 5-10 in frame rate in
NR2002.  I'm getting between 38 and 48 with NR2002, and 43-60 with N4.
(This is at 640x480, 16bit).

interested in seeing what framerates Voodoo5 owners with fast (1.4ghz
and above) systems are getting.   I've been considering a system
upgrade, don't you see.  And this might just push me over the
edge.......

My fps are right about what I would expect with my Piii 500(which is not
good btw)  The game automatically chose most of the lower graphic options.
When I chose more graphics the framerate dove down into the ***s.
However, myself and another V5 user on my league mailing list have both
seen a big swath of RED overlaying the track surface just about 5 car
lengths ahead,  The red covers the track all the way down the straight and
chases you in the mirror.  There is also a black smudge which runs on the
apron at about the same distance.  Getting near the turns causes it to
either evaporate or get pushed back out of view until back on the straight.
Frame rate with NO trackside objects(funny to see pavement all the way to
the parking lot where the grandstands should be) starts in the 40's but
averages in race conditions from the mid 20's to 30's.  (8x6 2xfsaa)
Framerates feel very similar to what I remembered from N4.(and makes me wish
I still had my athlon chip)

Yeah, I noticed the red and black smudges too.  (Gotta check if they're
noticable in the mirror...)  It reminded me of a "mirage" effect that you
sometimes get on a really hot day, except I don't know why it's red, unless it's
reflecting something red in the grandstand.

Thanks for your response, Dave.

I have the same problem, but I found the colour changed when i changed the
resolution at 1600x1200x16 it's kinda white & at 1024x768x16 it was black &
red.

Same thing happening here.... looks pretty wierd :)
Probably a driver issue.

I got rid of the V5 graphic glitch by switching to 32bit (800x600) with no
noticeable frame hit on my P3-800, 512mb RAM, W98. I've not been able to run
a game reliably in 32bit until now....efficient coding I would guess.
