NR2003: Server requirments?

by Ed Solhei » Thu, 20 Feb 2003 15:39:59

Could anyone tell me what sort of equipment one would need to setup a
dedicated NR2003 server...

I'm thinking about things like CPU, Ram, what OS is best etc...

Last but not least - what sort of connection-speed would one need to host a
20 car race?  (and what's needed for a full field?)
Will a 348 upload do? 512? 640? 1mbit?

NR2003: Server requirments?

Not sure about 'minimum' server requirements, but here's mine:

P3-866, 512mb ram, XP.

I can run 3 NR03 hosts at once, with about 65% CPU usage.

For a 20-25 car field, you'd need 512kb/sec up & down.

1mb/sec needed for a full field.

I think the rule of thumb is 22k per car in both directions.
