GPL in Win98?

My buddy cant get GPL to run with his new maxed out, Win 98 computer
with a 12 meg Diamond monster card. He gets mouse "ghosting"on all
menus, and gets kicked out of the game as soon as he's dropped onto the
track. Any help from anyone would be appreciated...

Install the latest Diamond monster 2 drivers. Do NOT install the 3dfx beta
reference drivers... :)

I had problems with flashing checkered textures all over mine and
installing the 3dfx reference drivers fixed that. I've got a Creative 12Mb
Voodoo2 under Win98.

Its a ***shoot then whether it works or not..it didnt on my Diamond 12 meg
V2.
