Not too bad, but definitely NO REASON TO FRIGGIN SHOUT ON THE NEWSGROUP.
Geesh, called decorum.

Looks like a Destruction Derby clone to me. Oh, and isn't there
something missing? Something quite important... :)

If we were discussing a painting I could understand your e***ment
over the looks, but what good are lovely graphics if it drives like,
well, NASCAR Revolution.

Pics are quite nice, but it's not THAT exciting.

Cheers!

Looking pretty sweet allright. Given how well Ratbag did on their
first title, this is definitely one to watch.

Of course it's worth discussing, but then so is the fact that we've
seen a LOT of products that looked tremendous and ended up totally
crap. Feel free to join the people getting wood over this
AWWWWWWWWWWESSSSSOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEE "picture", but I prefer to
maintain a sense of perspective.

Cheers!

Why no :

"Worlds #1 Rated Driving Simulation "POWERSLIDE" Check Out This demo..."
thread here, why only post it on T.g.s.n. ?  Was it because you actually
know that Powerslide is not the best driving sim there is (weak compared to
at least half a dozen other sims) and the r.a.s.ers would flame you?  ;-)

Im just tired, you should take a peek at SODA:Off-Road to understand what
are correct dirt-track physics ;-)

What's up with the perspective on these? They're like 4 times as wide
as they are tall. I'm guessing they're linked views of multiple
screenshots. <???>

I live for dirt racing, be it car, truck or motorcycle.
I'm really looking forward to this one. :-)

Okay, this screen shot shows 8 cars . . . but I really want to see a shot
with an in-cockpit view!

"Software Allies" developed SODA. The lead programmer Shawn Nash is
still
contracted to Papyrus, doing cool graphics stuff in N4.

Now he'll probably beat me up for posting this :)

Grant.

Software Allies. A guy that worked for them named Steve Travers used
to post here a lot before Sierra ixnayed the Soda 3Dfx patch.
If I remember correctly, he moved on to other projects, but was still
lurking in RAS. He sent me a reply when I asked about what the
Software Allies guys were doing (this was over a year ago...).

Shit, I thought this was going to be open wheel Sprint cars. Looks to me like they
are closed wheel Hava-Tampa type cars.

The open-wheel sprint car sim will be a follow-on product, I believe.  I've
heard through the rumor mill (some of the Australian sim sites -- can't
remember the URL, though) that RatBag has been talking with either the WoO
and/or USAC about possible licensing tie-ins.  I believe their plan is to
take the DTR engine and parlay that into an open-wheel dirt track sim.
We'll see, but it sounds like a good bet to me -- and a good time! <G>
