Dirt Track Racing -- new creen shots on the Sledgehammer site

I noticed that Demon Boy recently posted a couple of new screen shots from
Dirt Track Racing on his "Sledgehammer" Powerslide site.  Check them out at:

http://www.***comm.net/~otwino/dtr_interview.htm

The screen shots are at the bottom of the page.  I *REALLY* like the gold
'67 Chevelle with the "#26" spraypainted on the door, sliding off into the
sunset (those muddy sidewalls remind me of the "redline" tires on my old Hot
Wheels cars).   That black, white, and purple Ratbag-sponsored late model
looks pretty good howling at the moon, too.

I'm pumped, and I want to do it in the dirt, man!

BTW that gold 67, actually looks more like a 68 from the rear looking lines,
and the narrow tail light area. I had one, and am desperately looking for
another <G>

I always get the '67 and '68 years confused, Tony -- I was just going by the
rear window line and pegged it for a '67 (hey, I'm no Chevelle expert, just
a fan! <G>).

That "Chevelle" image makes a GREAT wallpaper, BTW.  Now, even though I
can't enjoy DTR yet, I *can* sit in front of my monitor, twist my TSW2
wheel, and watch that Chevelle as it . . . well, I can at least IMAGINE it
sliding into the sunset . . . <G>

;-)

Now if somebody would just post an in-cockpit view, I'd be one happy camper!

Any word about an in-car view? Or is it just a chase view for driving?
Any midgets or sprint cars?

There will indeed be an in-car view.  This was from Greg Siegele of Ratbag:

=====

John,

Yes, we do have plans for a***pit view. We've been following the newsgroup
discussion and have decided that this would satisfy the sim fans. However,
we are giving priority to the simulation factors. We don't want to sacrifice
these elements of dirt track racing to support the presence of a steering
wheel and driver's arms for example.

Cheers, Greg

FWIW, there won't be any sprint cars in DTR, but I've heard that there is a
possibility of a follow-on to DTR that WILL include sprints, I believe
(either an add-on, or a stand-alone).

I race at Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland.  I am very much looking
forward to being able to race on dirt in sims.  Let people find out
how hard it is to race on the moody dirt :)
