Is there going to be a***pit driving view? This is the single most
important facet of a game to me. I hated SODA because of the lack of a
decent driving view from inside the car. Anyway, if someone knows, please
post this.
Thanks,
Phillip

RatBag's first title, PowerSlide, featured both external and internal views.
The internal view didn't have a***pit, per se, but it did feature a
first-person view (much like a FPS like Quake or Half-Life) with gauges
along the bottom of the screen, rather than an inventory/status bar.  I'm
strictly an in-cockpit driver, and I don't like "nose camera" views in
driving sims any more than I like external views, but the internal "in-car"
view in PowerSlide is very satisfying to me.  My guess is that they will use
something along these lines with Dirt Track Racing, but this is pure
speculation on my part.  At any rate, it's a safe bet that you will at least
have an internal view, if not a full***pit a la SCGT or Viper Racing.

When I was working on Burnout  the #1 complaint was no***pit view
this isnt a sim.  Well I race with 500 racers and we have a***pit
view in now PCE and NIRA.  I still dont know anyone that drives
the dragsters in***pit view.. hehe...

I would yes like to see an option that forces people to sit in the car
and race in***pit view..

I surely hope that they put in a full***pit view, preferably 3D.  IMHO It
just adds a lot to the immersiveness of the sim.  But I am getting a little
worried since none of the screenshots shown so far have been from an incar
view.

RatBag seems like a savvy company -- they referenced GPL as one of the sims
they studied while developing Dirt Track Racing, so I'm sure they have
enough smarts to know what sim racers want.  And, invariably, most of us
want in-car views.  Full 3D***pits may or may not be part of the equation,
but I'd be willing to bet that there WILL be an in-car view.

Hopefully.

You listening, RatBag??

I will have to tell you the opposite.  SODA has unlimited number of views
from the***pit.

You can create your own view by pressing the key on your keyboard (s,d,f,g,
you will understand fast).  You can tilt, zoom, move your camera on the XYZ
axis anywhere you want on the***pit.  If that's not the ultimate***pit
choice, I dunno what it is :)
