Have you been running TOCA2 or the TOCA2 demo?  If so, I've
heard that doing so can cause sound mixing problems with CMR.
Unfortunately I can't remember if there was a simple solution to this
problem...

Are you running the Demo of TOCA2 by any chance? As that ***s the co-
driver speech up in CMR. I love the demo of TOCA2 but as it wipes the
speech out I've got rid of the demo. Anyone know if this happens with
the full version or is it just a demo thing?

I posted the mail about fixing the speech problem some time ago.  I now have
the full game
(TOCA 2) and don't know if the problem has been fixed, as I still have the
qmixer dll in my CMR directory, and as everything is working, I aint gonna
mess around with it (if it aint broke don't try and fix it!).

With regard to the menu screens in CMR, some developer at Codemasters needs
a serious slap.  These are quite possibly the most badly written menu
screens I have ever had the displeasure of using.  I have a Matrox
Millennium II AGP 8 Meg.  All was working fine until a few months ago I
decided to not follow my own advice, and fix something that wasn't broken by
updating my Matrox drivers.  Since then, the menu screens in CMR have run at
a snails pace.  Imagine my embarrassment when I subsequently read the readme
file on the CD and found the problem clearly stated!  I couldn't reinstall
the old Matrox drivers the  old Matrox install program kept crashing, so
I've just lived with it ever since.

Any chance of re-posting the fix as I have to keep swapping Qmixer.dll
files each time I change from TOCA 2 (Demo) to CMR. Toca doesn't
recognise the CMR file and therefore refuses to run. Meanwhile the Toca
file blanks the speech in CMR.
