Well, there's really not too much to say about the race. Only seven
people showed up. The only incident I know about is when Ed and
Ginger got together on lap 1 turn 1.

The rest of the race featured Neil whoopin the ***outa the rest of
us with times in the 1:26 range while the rest of us were wallowing
around in the 1:28's.

Ginger tried to pull off a no-pitstop run, but he ran low on gas with
just one lap to go and had to pull in for a splash-n-go.

It's really too bad we didn't get more of a showing, especially since
the track is available for download and all of the rascar drivers
could have raced for free.

Congrats to Neil for the win with a 59-second interval between him
and 2nd place.

Oh yeah, I finished the race (in 2nd).

I did some looking around and have downloaded some tracks.  I do not have
any converter or NR2k2.  Some of the tracks I dl'd work and others do not.
Sadly, Silverstone is one that will not load.  I can run Monza though.  I
just dl'd GPL demo and it is doing the same thing my NR2 game does, loads to
the splash screen then back to my desktop.  Has to be my video settings but
I do not know why and I am not sure I even want to mess with them to run
older games. I am running XP Pro with an NVIDEA G force2 video card if
anyone has any ideas what may be causing this I would appreciate the help.
I came in 2nd on a 30 lapper at Daytona today racing on a sierra server,
raised my new profile (due to rascar naming conventions) up one on SS
courses and had a lot of fun at the same time.  I love this new wheel, I was
able to avoid some accidents as well as prevent/recover from some almost
spins going too high in the corners.
All in all I would have to say I am really enjoying this new wheel and
seem to be making a much better showing on the track so far.

Is "cutting" some of the corners frowned upon?  In a few corners
at Silverstone, there is this mossy pavement on this inside of the
turns.  I often cut through there-esp. on the turn before the final
straight...

If it's paved, it's part of the racetrack. <g>

Well, I don't do it because it tends to upset the car a bit, and none
of the guys I watched during the replay were doing it.

I never take any short cuts - except when in the process of performing an
elegant crash. I feel it's legitimate to put 2 wheels over the kerb as long
as two are on the track. This really only applies to a couple of turns.

That's a good question...

With the exception of when I screwed up, I stayed off the berms, but I have
no doubt I could have knocked a BUNCH of time off by using them.

But I didn't know that the 'feeling' was about this so I stayed off unless
it was by accident.
