Has anybody tried the demo version of Full on F1 at the gamesdomain
site?
I loaded the game and then decompressed the Zip file and tried to run
it.  It just seem to crash my PC. I read the "readme.txt" file and
referenced a disk drive.  What's the deal?

Can anybody help

I also tried it without success.  The readme file makes it sound like it is
supposed to run from a cd-rom, like one that comes with a magazine.  It
looks like it is booting up, and then it dumps to a bizarre hi-res monochrome
dos video mode with the error message "can't find mouse pointer graphic".
I tried it in its own directory, and on the root of a drive.  Anybody have
any solutions?

I downloaded it and had some trouble with it to. But I changed the
download to directory C:\F1demo and got it to work. Calibrating the
joystick and/or keyboard is still funky, but at least I can get it to
run. The opening screen says it's from PC Gamer. Is that the magazine or
something else?

Unzip to C:\F1Demo, than run F1.exe

Here's my solution: Don't bother, its not a simulation its an arcade game
and it
sucks big time.

I tried that with a fresh download, but it still didn't work.  I got an
error "can't find the sample  sample\skidbend.snd".  The file is there,
but they are all in the directory I unzipped to, so I created a \sample
subdirectory, put all the *.snd file there.  Took care of that error message,
but then I still get the error "can't find mousepointer graphic".  I have
a file "mouseptr.bbm", and it's probably the file, but supposed to be in
some specific subdirectory the zip file didn't create.

I checked the PC Gamer website, but they didn't have it for downloading.
They may have had it on a CD.  The Games Domain site I got the demo at
has no instructions for running it.  Any more ideas anybody?

Look guys, don't take offence but really, after reading of your
problems i deceided to have a play and all that was required (at least
in my situation) was to copy the file to c:\f1demo and type pkunzip -d
f1demo.zip. If you are going to d/l files 99.99999% of the time you
will need to add the -d option with pkunzip (this creates any
directories in the zip file). No if only I could get the sound
working:)

Hi there, I did make the sound work, it seem the path is wrong, and the
program did not find it. Go to subdirectory, TOF1DEMO and do the setup
there, if not done already. What I did is to move 4 files to the main
directory of the game, the 2 INI files and the 2 drivers, you choose for
your sound card (.mdi and .dig) and you will have sound, next time you
start the Demo.

Can you tell me if you see the screen of the game in full SVGA details,
for me the game doesn't look good. It look like VGA, or maybe it because
, I have a 486DX2 66Mhz. So if the demo look to perfect to you, just
tell me.

Thanks

Baz
