Do you mean 10-20 new threads? I check usenet about once every 12
hours and average 150 new posts each time. However most of those are
stuffed away in threads I'm not reading, and I generally see maybe 10
new threads a day.
The only time I personally get annoyed by people on usenet is when
they either a.) post in HTML or b.) use a shitty non-RFC compliant
news reader (i.e. Outlook Express) that doesn't thread their posts
properly.

What is non-RFC compliant mean and what newsreaders are RFC compliant? What
do you recommend as a newsreader. I do use Outlook Express and don't think
it's that great (although I don't think it doesn't thread my posts
properly).
TIA.

I gave Forte Agent a go but it's horrendously overrated. Might be OK for
leeching *** from binary groups....dunno.

Oh, man do I agree with you. I can barely forgive myself for paying for
that POS a few years ago.
It's the most convoluted, confusing, pain-in-the-ass to use newsreader I've
ever seen.
Features have been 'tacked onto the end' for years. Nothing has ever been
re-organized to turn it into a efficient, logical interface. It has so many
different preference and option panes, scattered heavens knows where, that
you can't find shit when you need it.
And to this day (up to version 1.8) it STILL can't sort by subject and group
by thread at the same time.
I don't even think I have my serial number any more.

remove .spam when replying
Agent does handle binaries very well, but the interface for reading and
composing posts is very poor compared to OE.
