Gives you over 150 cars and enables you to compete in the Trans Am Series.
I love it personally...

SCGT 125Mb Patch

by Bradd » Mon, 31 Jan 2000 04:00:00

Ditto, I installed it together with the Aussie V8's what a blast, adds new
life to a great game.

Nothing like screaming around a track in the 0.05 Brock Commodore listening
the the screamin V8, makes an Aussie living in the US feel like home.

All I need now is a Bathurst add-on track and I would be happy !

BTW Any Aussie's have  a comment on the*** Johnson Game that was released
before Christmas ?

The patch is located at techware motorsports.  Which is a part of
gtinsider,  last time I checked the link was out of date.  But if you
check the links look for techware motorsports.  There you will find a
page of 40+ files.  USE A DLOAD MANAGER!!!  The archive is not browser
friendly and many user have had to re-dload all the files.  Use go!zilla
or getright, they both work very well and allow you to automate your
dload so you don't have to keep watch over the process.

his main webpage is at:
http://techware.gtinsider.com/
it has a link to the motorsports section but that says the site is under
construction

a comment on the*** Johnson Game that was released

yeah, my 1st impression is that the driving, and even the poor steering is
same as TOCA 1 with sound by aussie V8.

Speaking of which....

I dl'ed the 125 MB patch and I'm having a small problem. Most of the cars
don't have any engine sounds. Is there somewhere I can get sounds for the
additional cars?

SCGT 125Mb Patch

Braddo

I eagerly waied for the game to be released, as I have been a big DJ fan since I
was just a lad.
I noticed it on the shelf at target very early in the new year for what seemed
to be quite a low price - which immediately aroused my suspicions.
I did finally get my hands n a demo & found the game to be pretty unimpressive.
I would have loved to have seen a greta game, but I can't say that I did.
Everything looked really nice - great to see a Shell Helix DJR AU falcon! - but
I didn't like the demo at all. After about 30 mins I deleted it from my hard
drive & haven't been bothered to buy the game. Oh well.....

Which of the Aussie V8's are included in the SCGT patch? Do you think it would
be worthwhile to invest in a copy of  SCGT for myself?  Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,
Ralphy

SCGT 125Mb Patch

Common problem.  Gunslinger did not include any third party
sounds or at least not all the third party efforts.  They are
available from a variety of sources.  Most of the individual files
have the car sounds included, by that I mean sites that let you dload
individual cars, either updates or new efforts, those will "usually"
include sound files.  When you unzip the dload, you put the car stuff in
the patch folder and wav files in the sound 22/16hz folder.
Now there is a utility that lists most of the sound files needed, it
is called SCGTsoundcheck.zip.  I think gtinsider still has it. probably
other sites as well, it will tell you what files are where.  the only
problem is identifying which paticular files you need.  this can be done
by viewing the .bmp files in the patch folder.  By going through all and
I mean all 155+ cars pictures..you can find the file name for the car
you want.  There should be a matching .veh file for every .bmp or car
file so once you find the picture you then look at the corresponding
.veh file.  In it near the upper portion will be about 8 or 10 lines
that name the .wav files you need.  The first two are idle noises and
are pretty much universal, so you don't probably need those.  The last
two are the med and high rev range engine noises.  Write them down, run
scgtsoundcheck and find where those files are, go get'em, unzipp them
into the proper sound\22bit/16hz folder and you should be good to go.
