Has anyone had any success getting the new IRC Rally demo to work.

Every time I run it I get the following error

GURU MEDITATION

Error Code [8020851A]
EAX = 88760091   EBX = 00000000   ECX = 016EFFB8   EDX = 827923E4
ESI = 00450158   EDI = 00450950   ESP = 016EFF10   EBP = 00000002
C=0  Z=0  S=1  V=0  P=0

Any hints or help will be appreciated.

(I am running Win95, with Direct X 3 on an Intel Pentium 166 and have
never struck this problem with any of the other demos from the 'net)

Its a DOS based game, and even the demo doesn't seem to like
my Win95 virtual not-really dos windows.  Try JUST dos.

        I try to testing on 10-20 computers. Those are same problem.
You can choose 256 color on 640x480. different error....

NEW IRC Rally Demo (doesn't work)

My download seems to unzip wrong.  It keeps duplicating files and asking
if I want to overwrite (when installing to a brand new directory!)  Never
got to the first screen.  Downloaded the 3dfx version of XCar, though, and
WOW!  Haven't driven too much yet, but seems really good, and the playback
with all the telemetry is amazing!

Hi,

The demo works o.k. on my home and work computers. The error message
reminds me of the "GURU" error I used to get on my Amiga 500. Maybe
it's a virus or something??

I got the demo and there was no problem to get it working. I have a
P166 MMX overclocked to 225 MHz, ASUS TX97 with 32 MB, Hercules
Dynamit 128 (ET6000) with 2 MB. It runs with WIN95 and in DOS mode.
BTW a very, very nice demo.

Has anyone got this demo to work? The newsgroup has been strangely silent
about it. Maybe it's a joke on me, and all of the rest of you are out
there laughing and playing the demo like there's no tomorrow.

I emailed europress and they very quickly replied saying that only 6
people in the world had reported the GURU MEDITATION error - looks like
Tim and I are either unlucky or there's a few thousand really quiet
people out there who didn't report the problem.

If anyone has successfully played the demo - please give us poor GURU
MEDITATOR'S a review.

Also, if anyone else is getting the GURU MEDITATION error, please let
Europress know so that they can understand the extent of the problem.
