Colin McRae Rally - doesn't work on 3dfx?

It works fine on my friend's Pure3D. It hates my Pure3D2.
I don't know what's the deal but it's the first time I find myself
jealous of his Pure3D.  :-P

Has anyone gotten this demo to run on a 3dfx card?
I've tried it on my Voodoo and my friends Voodoo2 and it fails to run on both
systems.  What gives?  Is there no D3D?

I chose "default" for the graphics card during the install on both setups.

I've got the Monster Voodoo II and it runs great -- other than the fact
that it provides no joystick support, it looks good!

Yes, it works on my Diamond Monster-I too. I'm not sure why it doesn't
work on yours. I selected the 'default' card and did a full install.
I have Win95 OSR2 with the latest glide drivers (that support glide 3?)
and the USB patch installed. I have a Mill-II for the 2D, but I'm almost
sure it isn't the 'default' 3d card :-) so I'm pretty positive that
the voodoo card is used. OTOH, the graphics of the road are pretty
coarse (sp?), no filtering (it seems), has anyone else noticed that?

It`s using the Mill-II for the display hence the blocky graphics.
There`s no voodoo support (1or2) at all in the demo. It`ll just
default to your 2d card.

Not true, I have a Mill G200 and V2 12mb and it defaults to the V2, and then
crashes!

Yesterday, I took a closer look and yes, it is not using my 3dfx
card. BUmmer. It's a cool game though AND I was faster then Colin on
the New Zeeland track :-)

The game will have 3dfx support, won't it?

Hope so...it looks exactly like the blocky playstation as it is.

The Demo I had around 2 months ago worked fine on my creative 12
without -any- problems. Unfortunately it was keyboard only, despite
that I liked it so much I bought a playstation just so I could play
the full version. The graphics were -not- blocky, and it was certainly
using the V2 3Dfx card (I had mystique 2MB then, though I've now got a
G200).
