I bet you wonder why people like GPL, ugly eh? <g> Don't worry....
You need the OpenGL Beta2 patch, get it at:
http://www.papy.com/gpl/download.html
Also get the GPL 1.2 patch there, you need it to get Force Feedback.
Use the nVidia reference drivers 3.68. You can get that at:
http://www.nvidia.com/
To get red of the flickering mirrors, set the OpenGL buffer settings
to "Use Block Transfer"
New tracks are available at:
http://www.theuspits.com/
(Brands Hatch & Osterreich Ring)
and at the GPLEA:
http://www.kotr.de/GPL/
(Snetterton and Pantsring)
Also at the GPLEA you can get an improved Ferrari and Brabham.
The fastest laps are at Schubi's:
http://www.parc-ferme.de/
You want to race online? Start here:
http://vroc.net/
And last, but certainly not least, the site you HAVE to visit:
Alison Hine's GPL site, with much information.
http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/
I also have to inform you that you have no social life anymore... <g>
Remco
In addition to the sites suggested in the previous post I also suggest that
you look at Riccardo Nunnini's informative site on driving in GPL. The URL
is:
http://website.lineone.net/~richardn/
There's also a good links page for all sites GPL at:
http://users.bart.nl/~hansvd/links.html
I also have an additional point on setting up GPL. When you are driving it
is very important that you have a steady framerate of 36 frames per second.
You can check the framerate by pressing Alt - F. If you have less than 36
fps you should reduce the graphics settings. I found that the detail slider
makes the biggest difference in framerate with minimum loss of information.
A steady 36fps at 1024x768 should certainly be possible on your system.
Cheers
Phil

Kurt

I took the lastest ones that seems to be OK
Thats flickering Ugh where is the menu to change the opengl buffer
settings ???
Many Thanks for your help remco
"They are in the properties for your Nvidia graphics card. You get
there via
the Display Properties in Control Panel. Click Settings - Advanced -
RIVA
TNT - Additional properties - OpenGL Settings. Then set Buffer
flipping mode
to "Use block transfer"." <End Quote>
Too bad you don't mention what drivers you're using. The latest
doesn't mean much these days.... <g> Anyway, try other drivers
if you still can't find this option...
