OK, I know it's been said before but Brands is AMAZING!! I only just got
it to work properly after a re-installation. Initially I had loads of
missing textures and poor framerates.

But now it's fixed.... What a blast. Brands is my local track, and
driving it in GPL is the ultimate!

Dave Noonan, you are a Sim God!

Gotta agree! If it wasn't for that Baz Luuuuurman single, life would be
perfect! :-) It seems to me that the circuit hasn't changed much? Isn't there
now a chicane around the GP loop somewhere? When was the last time the BTCC
guys used that part of the circuit? It's a lovely section!

I went to DemonTweeks today and got completely kitted out!

"Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth... oh nevermind..." OK! Thanks Baz...

Oh, I don't know! Does anyone actually read these sig's anyway!?

I think they always have and still do. TOCA shows the "Indy" circuit
only (the shortened one with McLaren joining into Clearways) but any
TV coverage I've seen has always showed the full thing.

The chicane is probably Dingle Dell, which now has a twisty section
that everyone pretty much straightlines anyway.

Cheers!

Sorry John but for the last couple of years the BTCC has only run on
the Indy Circuit although to be honest they are much more suited to
the shorter track.  The Grand Prix loop is responsible for some of my
most memorable Grand Prix memories seeing Mansell, Senna, and
Villeneuve go through Dingle Dell was magical.

Regards Mike

Do you know why that decision was made Mike? I loved the footage of
the BTCC guys hammering through Dingle Dell.

What a shame. Must be a tragedy for the drivers, the best track in the
U.K. and not allowed to drive around all of it!

Cheers!

That's why I can't wait for the first weekend in July - a healthy field
of Thoroughbred F1 cars hammering around the full Brands GP circuit....
Hearing that late '70s Ferrari as it zooms through Hawthorn... or a
Brabham BT49 through Dingle Dell....

Drool :-)

Sounds like I need to be there.... do you have any other info pls?  Is it
qualifying Saturday and racing on the Sunday?  Is vintage F1 the concept of
the weekend?  Cheers.

Mike.

I'm a bit sketchy on the schedule details myself unfortunately :-(
But this what I see in my Brands Calendar. It's quite a big "Historic"
event it seems.

===
Brands Hatch - 3rd/4th July - FIA INTERNATIONAL HISTORIC SUPERPRIX

Circuit: Grand Prix

FIA Thoroughbred (1971-1984) Formula One (probably ~25 laps)
Historic Racing Saloons
Derek Bell Trophy
Historic/1970's Road Sport
Classic F3
Classic Racing Cars
MG/TR Challenge
Dutch Alfas
Thundersports
Classic Ford
3-Hour Endurance

I'd guess racing and qualifying is split over the two days. I'll
probably phone the circuit to get some more details. I imagine most of
the F1 stuff is on the Sunday. It was like that for the Easter BOSS
Formula race which I went to.

It's a "Grade C" event which means the gate price on the day is 16 quid.

Long live the memory of Keith Odor :-) an underrated driver and still
missed.

Just would like to say that Brands is already one of my favorite tracks.
It's really amazing to drive there. A lot of fun.

Thank a lot for the great job, Dave. Keep on this wondeful job and bring us
more new tracks.

Here a suggestion: How about a track from those days, like Interlagos
(Brazil).

Just my 2 cents.

Niber Pontes.

Thanks Graeme, I'll find out more about it - sounds like a great weekend....
I think I might go, it's only really down the road :-)
