My local school has non competitive sport too. They don't have races
where there might be a cry baby loser, instead they get the kids to
throw bean bags throw a hoop. They all get a prize, and there are no losers.

When I was at school winning meant something, but not as much as being
seen to do your best. I was proud to play footy for the school! No way
did I want to be one a the fat lardy boys who stood on the line in
games, blowing their snotty little noses, and waving a sick note from
their mums!

What is so wrong about awarding points for RASCAR? Are you worried that
a competitive edge will cause arguing?

Being a sour looser has *nothing* to do with it.

RASCAR was always meant to be a place we could all race for fun.
Once you start dragging points into the matter there will always be some
*** - me included - who get pissed off because someone ruined his
chances for the "championship". Or because some rookie (and we have always
seem to have a lot of them) didn't know what to do.

If you guys want to drag points into it, you'll have to do without me in the
management.
I'm here for the fun and the very last thing I want is a league.

Now you all know were I stand - the rest is up to you.

I just got back from Mart.  Turned a few 21.40's, the car was pretty stable
after a couple laps and I stayed pretty consistent throughout the tire run.
Im kinda looking forward to Mart this week  Have all the problems regarding
BF's/pace cars etc from previous versions been fixed in 03 Mart?

Man, I'm really slow at Mart. 21.6 was best I could do. Mostly doing low to
mid 22's. You really have to hit your marks perfectly every lap to have good
times.

Maybe Mitch can keep the points a secret and post them in a secret place
where all those that want to see them has access to the secret area and
those that don't want to be exposed to the points standing will not have
access to the secret points section. (Just kidding)

I know what you are trying to say with the points thing. In many businesses
that I do consulting with, the metrics that they have established and live
by drive entirely the wrong behaviors. The behaviors that points drive I
have not had any negative experience with but obviously you have had and
quite possiblly observed very negative behaviors with points.

I would challenge you Ed to work with the group on this one and try to reach
a consenus on the points thing instead of just leaving 'management'. If
indeed it is a terrible thing for RASCAR, I am sure the group will discard
them. Maybe they should be tried in the winter league? Help us work toward a
winning agreement that all can live by and play happy together. I just want
to have fun too.
