I have a measley P200 with a first generation 3Dfx and I am enjoying the
demo (no release in Canada yet). Just for fun I tried to push the
display to 800X600 - no other games will run at this resolution because
there is only 4 megs of RAM on the card. Well, not only did it run, but
I thought it looked fantastic. A lot of people have complained because
most games are too dark in the higher resolution, but I found it
actually improved the look of GPL substantially. Gave the sim a much
grittier and realistic look by dulling the colours. Of course, I'm quite
certain I won't be able to run this resolution with any opponents...

I'm with ya on that one.  It runs great... good for a weekday drive, I tried
to race with it and all 19 cars and I was lucky to reach 10 fps the entire
game... it would drop to about 2 fps when all the cars were around me on the
starting grid.

I think I've finally found a game worthy of needing a new computer.
