Nascar 99 in the UK?

Hello

I've been too busy enjoying Nascar 2 to notice, until recently, that
Nascar 99 has been released.

I've checked all my local shops and nobody seems to have heard of Nascar
99, everyone tries to sell me the new EA Nascar game. Yuck!

Where can I buy Nascar 99 in the UK?

Hi Paul

Here is a copy of the response from Sierra Uk to the same question.

We wont be releasing Nascar 99 in the UK as we no longer have the licence
(it has gone to EA until 2000 when we get it back (?!?) and we will be
releasing Nascar 2000 based on the GPL engine).  The US version should work
fine but we in the UK cannot support it and you will have to go to the US
offices for support.

Regards

Hope this helps

I've ordered it from the US - awaiting delivery. $36 including shipping.

I guess someone should call Sierra in UK and let them know that N2000 will NOT
use the GPL engine <VBG>

Er..... they need to take a lesson on how licenses work, i'm English, and am
a little embarrassed that Sierra UK sound so f*cking stupid!

If they have a license for NASCAR 1998 Season, they can make their 1998
season game, and sell it! Are they saying that on 31st December 1994
Microprose should of stopped selling GP2? Simply because their license was
for 1994? Reply to them and call them***s.... please.

WHAT!? Jeez! TALK TO SIERRA USA! Are they really that damn stupid?
I remember when I e-mailed them about a screenshot of GPL they had
which had weather! They apologised and took it down..... THEN I bought
Caeser 3 for my little brother, only to find a slightly offensive 'mistake'
in the
manual, which they apologised very badly for, and said they would
'investigate'
yeah right.

Wow, you UK Sierra guys must of worked some long hours to work that out.

offices for support.

Hey, aren't they kind!

That's a sort of "left hand-right hand" -syndrome. Even if the mother
company is even somewhat accessible (like Sierra US used to be), the
European office can have simply horibble service.

I ended up buying a copy for a friend who wanted it when I went abroad at
Xmas. Seems we don't merit N99. Okay so they may not want to sell it in the
shops as I doubt they'd shift too many units but it'd be nice if they held
a small stock for fans to buy direct.

Sierra UK get very little info from the people in the US. I used to run a
games site and my contact at Sierra would get his news from people like
myself who were running "fan sites" as we got the news, screenshots and
movies long before he did thru official channels.

Sucky really, but that's why the people at Sierra UK don't know much.
Personally I've found that when they have the info they need they're a well
clued up bunch of people. Plus they're a good laugh :)

Yep, sure did, thanks.

Great, where did you order that from, Sierra's site? A new game here
will cost about 35ukp's, so $36 is a great price. Is there any import
tax to pay on top of that?

Paul,
I ordered mine directly from the Sierra site back in February. Total cost
was $64-95 (around 40-00), which included $15-00 shipping costs. Took
around about a month to arrive which was really frustrating but better late
than never.

Want any more info let me know.
