F1 2002 glance?

by Ice » Sun, 13 Oct 2002 00:02:50

A few weeks ago, I saw a thread on one of the F1 2002 forums (can't remember
which one) about changing some***pit cam values in the default.cfg (I
think..?), which would result in a 'glance' effect, similar to GPL_glance.
I've tried it, and it worked: as you'd turn the wheel, you would look
slightly in the same direction. However, these edited values got lost, cause
I apparently went in some options menu since then, which resets the values.

Anyway, I can't find it anymore. Anyone care to post the tweak here?

I don't know if this is the correct fix, I haven't tested it...since
GPLglance gave me the spins...
but here is from a forum link from the gpl.glance thread.

JP Hovercraft,

Exbird over at High Gear found this one:
1. In your .plr file, change Glance Angle from .75 to .16 or .18 max.

2. The values under Controls for Steer Left and Look Left must match, i.e.
(1,2)

3. The values for Steer Right and Look Right must match, i.e. (1,1)

4. Go to your default.cfg and change LocalCam=Cockpit/ Orientation Rate from
(35,35,25) to (35,20,15). this last step is optional.

It does disable the look left / look right commands. If you've mapped wheel
buttons for these commands they will be gone.

Hey thanks. Btw, I did a search on 'exbird' on the High Gear forum, and
found the original thread instantly. I'll bookmark it this time...
