Way back when in the dark, primordial days of online racing, there was a
web site that held all the racer's stats from Hawaii [precursor to
NROS].  I mean *all* the racer's stats--anybody who ever ran on Hawaii.
It was still up as of not too long ago, but I've lost the link.

Anyone here have it?  TIA

Man, that would be cool.  I'm curious exactly HOW many hours I spent there,
running up my phone bill... :-)

Well I dont know how many hours I spent there - but I do remember the $500+
phone bills for 3 months of racing....  Damn those *transcontinental* calls
cost money back then!

Yes, I do remember that site.  After the it closed, many of those stats
moved to the old site by Alex Koziol I think.  They were taken by the NROS
staff also for sure.

If you ever want to have access to them, perhaps you could try to call
Papyrus and get in contact with somebody there.  Maybe they still have them
archived? :)

It would be interesting to see my stat's.  I know I wasn't up there but
If I remember right I was somewhere about 10(?)  but it's been so long I
can't remember how they were calculated.  Either way, If the link can be
found,  POST IT HERE! :-)

Haven't called Papy, but haven't had any luck finding them, either.
$1200 phone bills?!  My wife just about skinned me alive when I ran one
up to $300+ one month--and all that was racing between the hours of
2300-0700, and on weekends.

Ah, those were the days. . .

Funny how there were no morons and crashers racing on Hawaii either. That
was some of the best online racing ever!

I was in an offline league back then and our league director was
living with his parents and ran up a $500 bill in one month.....and
didn't tell them about it until the bill arrived.

I guess it was a fun league, but it was too much temptation for some
folks...

Some of us would spend that a month. :-) But the good
quality online racing made it worth while. It was fun
while it lasted.

Wayne, there were a few but they got black balled pretty
quickly. The racing crowd was much smaller then and easier
to police. It wasn't perfect but it was miles ahead of what we
have today. I still remember in the early days when it was closed
beta and experiencing warp. Nobody would believe it existed
initially including Papy. The penalties were very severe by the
league admins as on one persons machine it would look entirely
different from the others, god help you if you didn't save a replay. :-)
By internet standards the warp was very minor and usually short
lived. Those that raced in the early days got very spoiled by Hawaii.

Uh, not.  Maybe the league races were clean, but there were morons in
the pickup races, same as today.
