Juan Pablo Montoya looks like he'll be putting in an intensive evening on
the PlayStation after still failing to set a representative lap time

Go check his qualifying performance. Not bad for a track he'd never driven
at before and all the mechanical problems in practice sessions. :-)

lol!
Well thank god sims aren't THAT realistic yet!?!!
Imagine sitting infront of your PC for 2 hours while watching virtual
mechanics scratching their heads :-)
Yep, I hear ya. I'm pretty pleased so far- I kept thinking back to
Zanardi's poor showing and I was a little nervous, but it looks like JPM is
going to do well. :)

my theory is that certain drivers are really not that great in all
types of race cars. other drivers are just that much more talented
and versatile that they can race in different vehicles and be
competitive.
examples of the latter are, Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Jacques
Villeneuve, Robby Gordon (I think, but then I may be overexpecting).
others like Zanardi, Michael Andretti and some of the other F1 drivers
who went to Indycars, are extremely talented in one discipline, but
just can't reach the same level in others. Its a pity. Whatever
Michael achieves in Indycars (and it is substantial already) will
always be tempered when compared to his dad's successes.
just to keep this on topic and related to the thread let me add that I
thought that Montoya is showing definite signs of greatness. he had a
fantastic start at melbourne, but overcooked it into the first corner.
his qualifying performance at sepang was very good and if you saw the
last 15 minutes of qualifying you know what I mean. The last few
minutes were enough to drop a top six lap time into a 11th or 12th.
Montoya is also probably not that experienced in all the weather
conditions that formula one is raced under. Hope he has GP3
installed. :)
Here's my dollar, can I have 98 cents change please.

Ian
