I go into the options and set it to "Manual Transmission", then click OK and
start the race........but after quitting the game and starting it again, it
defaults back to the Automatic Transmission.  How can I get it to save it?
I tryed using the save button down in the bottom right corner, and enter a
filename for the settings.  But do I have to LOAD that file EVERY time I
start the game for it to be manual transmission?  Also, I have a slight
problem with slow-down in the first corner because of all the cars being
drawn, and I think I remember seeing a fix for this somewhere....something
about going to the sound.cpa file and changing a couple of numbers or
something?  Anyone know about that?  Thanks for any help!

If you use anything other than the "expert" settings and change modes after
you change from auto to manual transmission, you'll have to change it back.
If you don't change the mode, your settings WILL be saved between sessions.
For instance, if you're playing single races on the "amateur" level and have
your transmission set to manual, if you quit and restart the game, playing
single races on "amateur" level again, your settings should remain the same.
BTW, there IS a hot key for Auto/Manual transmission, so you shouldn't have
to enter the menus to change.

To save a Configuration you have to click on the little symbol that looks
like a floppy disk.
