% I go into the options and set it to "Manual Transmission", then click OK and
% start the race........but after quitting the game and starting it again, it
% defaults back to the Automatic Transmission. How can I get it to save it?
% I tryed using the save button down in the bottom right corner, and enter a
% filename for the settings. But do I have to LOAD that file EVERY time I
% start the game for it to be manual transmission?
This is tied to the amateur level. Once you move up to expert and
beyond, the setting will stay saved. I guess UbiSoft in their infinite
wisdom felt that you should be penalized for running in amatuer level.
;-)
% Also, I have a slight
% problem with slow-down in the first corner because of all the cars being
% drawn, and I think I remember seeing a fix for this somewhere....something
% about going to the sound.cpa file and changing a couple of numbers or
% something? Anyone know about that? Thanks for any help!
Couple of things to try. First turn off replays, this should help
somewhat. Also others have suggested chaning some of the sound settings.
In the F1RS\CPA\dll directory you'll find a file called Snd_cpa.ini.
Make the following changes:
SXD_DIST_SATUR=1
SXD_DIST_FADE=15
Or you can download the F1RSRAYS program at www.f1racingsim.com which
will edit this file for you. The program also has other great features
(like upgrading Driver X to his real status).
