Nascar2 Patch Papyrus.

This is mainly to Papyrus\Sierra,
                                                  I know that they are
working very hard to bring out the long expected patch to fix up the
bugs but would there be any chance of at least releasing at least the
save game option. That is the biggest problem to me and it seems like
that is the biggest problem to the majority of users in this group. I
presume the coding would be allready written so is it possible. I
think then that everyone would settle down for a while as most would
be quite happy with that to tide them over for a while till the full
patch is then finished. I did say most but you cant please
everyone...:-)

I totally agree, I want to run a 2nd seasion but want to race longer races
than 25% and I trying to wait for the patch so I can run 100% race.  People
on the web have already fixed the pit problem at dega.  And most of the
other bugs we all can live with till the patch comes out.

Great Idea....Except how can they release part of NOTHING which is
what they have done so far on this patch!!!
And No I not taking the word of those who say they are slaving away at
because as far as I know there is NO CONTACT at Papyrus to ASK!!!
If there is WHO?
If there is a patch Let see it!!
The've had enough time to complete a whole sim
A save game option is not a big deal. You add a word at the bottom of
the screen that says "Save Game" then that points to a new Subroutine
that saves all the files (parameters) open. They know what to save
from their N1 sim. Gosh I guess I gotta rest now. This took so long to
figure out................

You really should get a clue.  While I do agree that Papyrus is taking
a long time to get the patch prepared, I have to question your statement
regarding their progress on this.  You claim to have "NO CONTACT" at
Papyrus, and yet you seem positive that they have done absolutely
"NOTHING".  Did you get this inside information from your Magic 8 Ball?

I don't think you are likely to see too many quality sims sitting on
store shelves today that were completed start to finish in under 6 months,
so I'm not certain that I would claim that they have had time to "complete
a whole sim".

Your comments on the save game issue are absurd.  I don't have the same
divine knowledge of the inner workings at Papyrus that you seem to think
you do, but I suspect Papyrus is doing a bit more than coding a "Save Game"
screen that simply closes any open files.  I could be wrong.  Perhaps you
have enlightened them.  Perhaps the Papyrus programmers are slapping them-
selves on their foreheads right now saying, "Damn, why didn't we think of
that!".  Then again, perhaps not.

Are you saying that you actually think the Save Game from N1 was the
best approach.  While I will agree it was better than nothing, I am
looking forward to something better than the equivalent of a race
restart.

Yes, you really should get some rest now.

Raaven whined:

Daring like a spoiled brat isn't going to make the process happen any
faster, son.

NASCAR 1 took about 15 months, NASCAR 2 about the same.  Four months so
far for the patch isn't quite so outlandish is it??

Oh-h-h-h!  So that's all there is to it.  You mean all that extra code
doesn't do anything?  Hmmm.

Gosh I guess I gotta rest now. This took so long to

Yes, perhaps you should lie down a bit, you poor dear.  It's been a
(yawn) long day.  Don't worry, though.  The sun will come up tomorrow.

God Bless,
Steve

Well I would tend to agree with you but I am trying to be optimistic.
I stuck up for Microprose and got shafted and they do not think there
was a problem with the link option but you only have to look in this
news group to that is not the case. I tend to think Papyrus\Sierra
will support us as they must know they are on a winner with these sims
and they really are. I personally can not see why they cant bring out
the save option and work at there lesure to do the rest of the patch
after all most people just want the save game at least. Some of the
clever ones out there have all ready fixed some of the problems with
it for Papyrus\Sierra so if you want to look at it we are all trying
to help fix it in our own way. I have just sent an E-Mail to Sierra
just before I replied to this so hopefully they will consider doing
the save option for us and get it out for us.

Sending an e-mail to $ierra is a futile exercise.  I speak from numerous

I have not seen one message from you that has to do with this issue
in which you mention any evidence or any clue that might make us
believe that Papyrus is not working on a patch or that they are not
trying very hard.

All your messages have been based on the theory that if N2 has any
bugs, and that if Papyrus does not release a patch within a month
or two, they are obviously not trying (or not working on the patch at
all) and that all they want is your money.

If anybody disagrees with you, all you do is flame them. Until you find
any real evidence (I'm not talking about fake messages that claim that
there will be no patch), get a life. You are acting like a little child
(how
old are you anyways).

I may be new to this group and al, but you need to wake up a bit. it
seems from what you've been stating that you think papyrus should jump
when you say and spit out patches and fixes at your whim. get a grip.
They put out the best simulators in as far as i've seen the best
timeframes of any company out there. Stop crying because its not perfect
and start enjoying what you have. As I like to tell the 4 years olds
next door, shut up and deal with it, you'll get it when its right and
ready.

Save your typing, TrenT.  Some people will always be clueless.  It's
OK though, the world will always need people to ask the tough, hard-hitting
questions like "You want fries with that?".

Oh yeah, and whatever you do, don't tell him/her that the N2 patch is out.
