I grabbed icr2nas (by Gerhard) just today, but I no longer have a
pointer to that site. Maybe somebody else has that URL, or try Lycos.
I was looking for more road courses for NCR, so I converted some ICR2
tracks to NCR. Some of the courses are somewhat flaky, with AI cars
jumping forward huge amounts in the very tight turns on some circuits.
The tight corners on Long Beach, and the hairpin at Vancouver are
particularly bad. They also race in the dirt on T1 at Elkhart; running
off-road doesn't appear to adversely affect their traction. I don't
think it's a problem with the conversion, but simply limitations in the
graphics engine in (the older) NCR.
Overall, I'd say this capability is great! Nascars are closer to what
we'll likely drive on some tracks. I hope to be running for real at
Elkhart later this summer, and maybe hit the regionals at Mid-Ohio next
year.
Mike.
