F1CS2000 Force Feedback

The force feedback support in F1CS2000 seems very inconsistent.  In the
pits I can feel resistance from the wheel, but when I get out of the
pits the steering gets very light and about the only feedback I get is
from curbs or from hitting something.  I am using a Logitech FFGP.  All
driving aids are off.  Does anyone know if there is a way of fixing
this, so that I can really feel the steering all the time?

No one has found an acceptable solution to this so far.  Some people have
turned up the "bumpiness" of the circuit itself, but it's a bad compromise,
IMO.  Hopefully, F1 2001 will have FF sorted out.  Sorry...

Had the problem in SBK2000 and then again in SBK2001
but with these two titles the FF drops out completely after
about 2-3 laps. Odd? I wonder if EA has a clich in these
titles?

Sounds like status quo for F1 CS2000...  it's a lost cause when it comes to
FF, IMO.  It's one of several reasons I never bought off on this game.

Even though those are both EA titles I don't think they were done by the
same developer.  Certainly the graphics in SBK2001 are far better than
the graphics in F1CS2000.  I'm not sure who did the SBK series, but
F1CS2000 and the previous title in that series were developed by ISI,
the same people that did the engine for SCGT.  In fact, the FF in SCGT
is similarly wimpy.  Which doesn't leave me with much hope for F1 2001
frankly.  :o(

What's really odd Haqsau is I have no FF problems nor have had
in F12000 or F1CS2000! Only in SBK2000 & 2001.. This seems
to be one weird anomaly! I wonder why?

F1CS2000 Force Feedback

I have an Act Labs! FF Wheel. Whenever I go over a curb, I get a tremendous
loss in frame rate.  Not so when the FF is turned off.  I wonder if it is an
Act Labs! problem?  Any ideas?

I'm not having that problem, so I suppose it could be.  The only problem
I am having is that there is virtually no steering torque feedback in
the wheel, except in the pits at the start of the game.  Once out of the
pits, the only strong sensations are from curbs and barriers.  And all
the other things I run into.  ;o)

Whoops I think I posted too soon.  I went back and played some more, and
I am getting some frame rate problems like you are describing.  But it
seems to only happen once.  The hard disk is being accessed when it
happens, so I would guess that F1CS2K did not pre-cache that effect, but
then after the effect has been used once it is now in memory and
therefore I don't get a slowdown the next time.  IOW, if I'm guessing
correctly, it's a problem with the game engine.

I have no idea.  Are you using Windows 2000?  I have heard of some
people having FF issues with that OS.  That's about all I can think of.

No Hal, 98SE. odd huh? I have both ME & 2000 Professional
but I'm extremely reluctant to install them as all the sims I have
loaded run perfectly except for this little 'SBK' clich... If you
think of anything please email me.. Tia.. -Thom_j.
