Force RS questions, SCGT problem

by Bria » Tue, 22 Feb 2000 04:00:00

I could never get my thrustmaster wheel and CH pedals to work w/ the
sports car GT demo because I couldnt ever assign the controls because
when i tried to assign, something else (from the pedals I think) would
immediately take the input because I could assign something.
So I bought the the Force RS, for one reason because it's digital and
USB, which I was told would fix this problem.  But the same thing is
still happening.  So it's pretty much unplayable (I have to hold down
one pedal to keep the brake from applying, then let up when I want to
brake :)   Is this just a problem in the demo?   I am using the Force
RS's pedals now of course.

Also are there any games that offer curve resistance?  SCGT doesn't
seem to either.   That's really the main reason I bought a FF wheel.
Ala the old arcade Hard Drivin.  Think NFS5 might?
I've heard RC2000 has good FF, but I didn't care too much for the game
itself (tried the demo).

In the Force RS's Control Panel:

What exactly does Operate pedals separately do?

Or Map Y axis to X axis?  Isn't this non-realistic?

Why is there an Overall Gain?  Is it not just a control for both the
Damper and Spring effects?

Anyone have any problems using this wheel w/ a USB hub?

Thanks,
Brian

Seems like you've got quite a few problems/questions.

I have the Force RS with USB and it works perfectly with SCGT. You
must check the box to operate pedals separately -- that is what
dual-axis is, accelerator is one pedal/y-axis, brake/z-axis is the
other.

If you have other questions check the Act Labs site,
http://www.actlab.com, they have a message forum there.

I already had it checked.   I just asked because I was wondering why
you wouldn't want it that way (surely no one plays flight sims w/
these pedals).
