NASCAR + T1

: I have NASCAR 1.1 on CDROM and a Thrustmaster T1.  I have NEVER been able
: to correctly set the controls so that the right pedal is the accelerator
: and the left pedal is the brake.  The right pedal just never registers!
: I know it's not a hardware problem, because (1) the setup works GREAT with
: IndyCar, and (2) even in NASCAR I can calibrate the pedals correctly.
: (In fact, they calibrate in NASCAR with exactly the same range of numbers
: as I get from IndyCar.)  I've tried increasing and decreasing the sensitivity
: of my ACM gamecard, to no avail.

: Has anyone else been able to defeat this?   If so, would somebody please
: send me a uuencoded copy of their working controls.cfg (control.cfg?) file?

I've found that you MUST have a joystick hooked to the secondary port with
my Pro Pedals, AND have the game configured for steering with the joystick
for the game to work correctly with the Pedals. If this is the case with
the CH Pro Pedals, maybe its the same with the T1.

:Are you calibrating joystick #2? The gas and brake act as the x-axis on
:joystick #2, one is x-axis left and the other is x-axis right. I am

Yes, I did calibrate it all.  Remember, I know how to do this: it works
just ducky with IndyCar.   Someone sent me a controls.cfg file and now
it works just fine in NASCAR too!

I had the identical problem.  I fixed it by removing the block of wood
that I had to limit the travel of the pedals.  Then I setup the controls
and finally reinstalled the block of wood.  It seems to be some sort of
problem where NASCAR doesn't see a big enough change when you press
the pedal with the limited travel so it thinks you haven't actually
selected anything.

After getting the pedals selected without the limited travel, I can
then install the block, calibrate and everything works fine.

I believe that the 1.2 patch for nascar may fix your problem.  I remember
reading in the readme.txt file about a fix for joystick calibration.

Good luck!

I was the original poster, and yes, the 1.2 patch does fix the problems.  I
also got someone to mail me a controls.cfg file and THAT fixed it before the
1.2 patch too.
