F12000 help with steering axis

by Stev » Thu, 27 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Just got F12000 and for some reason the game will not recognize the
steering axis on my Logitech USB (non FF) wheel.  The game will
recognize all of the buttons and the gas and brake axis (R- and RZ-
respectfully), but will not assign the steering axis when it asks to
steer right and left.  Of course the Windows Controller Panle sees all
axis just fine and of course other  games work fine with the wheel.

Help!  Am I missing something.  I will admit that I am not the
brightest at diagnosing computer problems.  This is frustrating.

FYI  WIN98SE and DX7.a

Thanks in advance.

Is your wheel on ID#1 in the control panel joystick applet?

it does this on the force rs wheel as wheel, if you re-install the
game, then you'll see the steering axis is correct, then just assign
all the other stuff..

Thanks for the quick replys.  Finally got it working, had to hold the
steering wheel all the way the right when the game starts, kinda like
the hold the brake pedal in SCGT to get the spliut axis thing right.

BTW, F1 2000 is pretty cool, I like it so far
