I think the real reason GP2 arrived in the U.S. later than most anywhere
else is so MicroProse could put a promo sticker on the box and an entry
form inside for a special contest they're having to celebrate the
release of GP2.  Grand prize is driving lessons at the Skip Barber
racing school.  They're also giving away a T2 wheel setup, copies of
GP2, and t-shirts.  There's just one catch - contest entries must be
post-marked (mailed) no later than July 30, 1996.  Gee, since GP2 didn't
get to the U.S. before July 23rd, and most places didn't even have it
then, at best you would have had 7 days to get your entry in.  Maybe
MicroProse just didn't want to really have to give the prizes away to
anybody  8(

You could always try reading the contest rules instead of wasting our
time.  Entries have to be submited no later than 31st August 1996.

I didn`t realise it takes you seven days to drive a lap around Monza,
maybe you should change your setup.

Lets get this right.  If you mean you had a bit of paper in the GP2
box saying deadline for entries was July 30 then I`m sorry.  However
the rules page on the web site about the comp.
(http://www.holobyte.com/gp2/contest.html then rules link) definitely
states the deadline is the end of August.

Well, where are the lawyers?!?

The sticker on the OUTSIDE of the box states:

"No purchase necessary.  Expires August 31, 1996"

The rules on the INSIDE of the box state:

"....postmarked no later than July 30, 1996."

"Drawing: ....on or about August 5, 1996...."

"Winners will be notified by mail on August 15, 1996."

I suggest you mail it anyway.  They probably extended the deadline due to
the late arrival of the game.  No time to print 'new' rules.
