AOL and Latency

Hi,

Can't play nascar because of "latency" or being "too far away", whatever that
means. Can someone help me. I love the nascar game and am dying to play via
multiplayer.
I don't have a prob. changing ISP providers, but how do I know if it will be
fast or right latency to play game?
Thank JG in Phila. area

Well, I assume your talking about racing Nascar 2 on Ten. If that's the
case, your going to want a good ISP other than AOL. Try some of the big
names - Earthlink, Mindspring, Sprintnet. Most will offer a 30 day free
trial.
If you get good results, and want to stick with them, you can even keep aol
and reduce their fee by using the bring your own connection rate, which I
believe is around 10 bucks a month. Or, you could drop AOL.

You can pick up a local ISP and still keep AOL by using your ISP for line
access and the BYOA-TCP/IP option for AOL.  That's what I'm doing so I can race

$9.95/AOL; all unlimited).  This way you can use AOL's features when you want
and ditch 'em when you don't.  This may also give you the option of
higher-speed access options, depending on your area.  Not for me yet, but I'm
hoping.:-)
