Isn't if funny how the reviewer says 'similar to' and mentions 3 wheels, but
non of them are the Guillemot Race Leader or Ferrari. This wheel is
obviously a Race Leader (according to the reviewer, even the software says
so) with some Ferrari parts. At $115 for this wheel, I think the Race Leader
is a better deal for $39 ;-)

The AVB wheel has a much more compact and solid feel than the Race Leader.
The usb chip in the AVB wheel is identical to the Race Leader (as with all
USB wheels) and simply has the race leader id set in it.

I only list other gear I have reviewed in the "simular to" section.  I have
not reviewed either Guillemot wheel.

Ok. But is has the same 3 lb motor, same number of buttons as the Race
Leader and the same pedal levers as the Guillemot units. The steering wheel
is the same as the Ferrari except the arrangement of buttons in the center.
The case is the same as the Ferrari and so is the clamping system. In fact,
the AVB supplied pictures show the old Ferrari clamp, and pictures taken for
one of the reviews shows the new style Ferrari clamp. The plate containing
the power on/off switch and power and pedals jacks is the same also. It is
definitely a Ferrari wheel with some very minor cosmetic changes and without
the stick shifter and wheel mounted gas/brake levers (just like the Race
Leader).

At computer geeks, I think. Try searching for it on pricewatch.com. If you
can get past the Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon looks of the wheel, how bad can it
be for 40 bucks. I'm thinking of picking one up just to use for a project
wheel, if nothing else.
