As far as NASCAR Racing is concerned, the UniVBE 5.1a driver does NOTHING.  It recognizes my
9FX Motion 771 from #9, but it does NOTHING.  If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm
listening.  I have the following:

486DX280
16MB memory
Number Nine 9FX Motion 771 64-bit VRAM graphics accelerator w/ 2MB

With all objects on but nothing textured except cars,

I get 11 frames/sec with 10 cars in front of me and 3 behind
14 frames/sec with  3 cars in front of me and 3 behind

Scitech which makes the UniVBE driver says their next product release will support all #9
cards but they haven't said whether it will improve them.

Everyone is always talking about what there frame rate is in NASCAR and
ICR2. How can you display this info?

How does someone determine the frame rate in NASCAR or ICR2?

This is how I do it.

I set all objects on but none textured.  Then I turn car textures on and set the minimum frame
rate to 10.  I go into a track like Bristol where everything is always turning :-) and if
after about 2 or 3 minutes of driving the car textures are still being displayed, it passes
that level.  I then go out, increase the minimum frame rate by 1 and repeat the process.  When
the textures dissappear, then the successful frame rate is 1 less than what it was when it
failed.

This all depends on how your other options are set.  Make sure you have the number of cars
displayed ahead of you and behind you that you need.  Adding even 1 car ahead of you may drop
your frame rate by 1/sec.

Once I determine the frame rate I need I turn off all textures to insure that I get at least
that frame rate.

Hope this helps, if there's an easier way, I'd like to know.
