Got the game Friday and have played it for eight hours solid, I have
two comps a dx2, 8 meg ram, with a Sirrus 1 meg vlb video card and a
P166 16 meg edo ram and a trio Video card with 2 meg of edo ram
On the p166 SVGA with nearly all detail on, only sky and some of the
detail in the rear view mirrors turned off it runs very smooth on all
track even Monaco( with a slight slow down in places but still well
playable), so this German who put up a posting that it was shit slow
on a p200 must have had his hand on his*** rather than the joystick.
Thats the good news, now for the bad. On my dx2 in VGA all graphic
detail on LOW it was very jerky and unplayable, perhaps a fast video
card with 2 meg of vram and 16 meg of ram would bring the speed up but
I doubt it. I reckon that any 486 owners who buy the game on the
strength of the min. specs on the box will be MEGA pissed off.
As for the game it is even better than I hoped and kills Indycar in
every respect, The crashes are astounding!
It is very hard, I dont claim to be an ace but I could win in GP1 in
semi pro and be pretty cometitive in ace mode and also done OK in
Indycar 2, I find that I am strugling to be competitive in Amateur
mode, granted I have not done much with the settings. It is going to
take me a while to find out if it true that the back markers move over
to let you pass......
In a nutshell John Walace is correct and all you picky German ***ers
who reckon its a piece of ***are wrong.
