Question, will Grand Prix Legends work with Voodoo 3?  Have Voodoo 2 + 2d
Card, want to replace with single Voodoo solution.

Thanks
Gary

Just replaced my Banshee with a V3 last week. GPL didn't even blink and
looks great. Remember to uninstall your V2 drivers first and go to a
standard mode 640x480 VGA mode. Then remove the old cards and put the V3 in.
Before I did the switch I went to the 3DFX site and downloaded the latest
drivers which I used when the card installation routine asked for  them.
Good Luck
David

Yes, but you will need to download the latest drivers to prevent
texture corruption.

it works graet with my v3 3500. I read in this newsgroup, that also the
others (V3 2000, V3 3000) are working brilliant.

Have constantly my 36 fps with all options on and a resolution of 1024 x
768.

Same here Bruce.  Using the Voodoo3 drivers that came with the card, no
texture corruption.  Perhaps Neo meant that you need to download the latest
GPL _patch_ ie. GPL 1.2?   I had terrible texture corruption on my Voodoo3
using GPL 1.0.

Not necessarily.
I'm using the drivers that came with the card, which I bought last November,
and have absolutely no problems.

Whilst you should always download the latest patch, I had heard that
the Voodoo 3 drivers which came with the card had problems in GPL and
needed to be updated.

I'm not an owner of a V3 however, so I can only go on what I hear, but
I'm glad that there are some of you who haven't had any problems.

just make sure you do two things...VERY IMPORTANT!
one use version 1.2 of gpl.
two..when you put in the new card make sure you have TOTALLY removed
all your V2 drivers before you install the new stuff.  I beleive there
is a utility on the V3 cd that will do this...if youread the directions
carefully.
dave henrie
gpl was MADE for a 3dfx V3 card.  can't go wrong.
