It works both ways...sorta. You can plug the pedals into your gameport and
your wheel into the USB or serial port. This only works only with games that
support 2 controllers. You must have a joystick or wheel plugged intom the
pedals to calibrate them in windows, and if someone was really clever,
they'd figure out how to use this joystick in GPL as a shifter<g>.
The other method is to discard the Logitech pedals altogether and replace
them with the pedals of your choice. This method works in all sims and
clears a lot of clutter from under the desk. I use the CH pedals but others
have used Thrusmaster, Microsoft, Redline, etc. The swap involves removing
the bottom of the Logi pedals and pulling the wires off the pots. Then do
the same with your new pedals. Rewire your new pedals with the Logitech
cable, button everything up, recalibrate in GPL and go racing! Of course
it's never quite that easy<g>, but you get the point. I had to carve out
some of the plastic in the CH pedal base so the wiring would fit, and I also
made short extensions for the ends of the wires with slip-on connectors so I
could reuse the Logitech cable in the original pedals if I wished. If you
are prepared, it shouldn't take more than about 20 minutes to do the swap, a
small powered screwdriver really helps<vbg>.
Steve Blankenship explains it a lot better than I in a reader report on
Alison's GPL site: http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/ Go to Help,
Controllers, Reader Reports. Steve's article is at the top of the page.

The CH pedals are available separately.
