Thrustmaster service. Woohoo!!

Needed new pedal springs for my TM Nascar Pro. Ordered them 7-11-99,
received them this afternoon, 7-15-99. Not too shabby. Cross country to New
Jersey in 4 days from the date of order. I think Thrustmaster has set a new
record in the delivery dept. Last time I ordered springs it took over 1
month to receive them. So...a big hats off the the service dept. And I know
what you're thinking, they shouldn't have broken in the first place, and I
agree. But, it is nice to see that they finally have a handle on things (at
least in my case)

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.

Just to add Dean; I sent one of my beat-up, burnt-out TM Nascar
Sprint wheels back & I got a brand new one within 2weeks. I am
satisfied {to say the least} & a little surprised! <g>..Cost $10.05
for shipping out and I am in New Jersey also.. <BG>
No complaints here about TM.. Thom_j.

I have been in contact with the Customer Service Supervisor at
Thrustmaster and they are in the process of attempting to revamp some of
their methods of taking and filling requests for servicable parts for
their products.

For the time being, it looks like if the part you want isn't listed in
the section of the webpages
<http://www.thrustmaster.com/support/cs/customer/login.cfm>
you will have to place a phone call to see if they can send you the
part(s) or require you send in the unit for repair.

They are trying to find a middle ground that will not require long
waits on the phone (your dime -- long distance).

Hang in there folks, Thrustmaster has always been known for their
customer support.  They have gone through some hiccup stages in this
department in the past, but to my knowledge there are very few companies
world-wide that can beat TM when it comes to customer service.

I've had the TM Super Sport wheel for 6-7 months now, and the wheel
had a lot of play in it when I lightly pushed the rim of the wheel
forward with my right hand and then lightly pulled the rim towards me
with my left hand. Clunk, clunk. I sent the wheel back to TM with the
proper RMA and just under 2 weeks recieved my box back from them with
a different used wheel in it and a invoice that said, "replaced
another new fully tested unit. rm.." As far as wheel movement, it was
WORSE by far, than the one I sent in. I did tell them the wheel shaft
was loose when I sent it in. I am mechanically inclined, so I fixed
their replacement wheel with .002 and .003 shims. I guess I didn't
know how they would handle this "loose" wheel, but this is what
happend to me. BTW, 10 days without GPL while they took one wheel out
of another box and put it in mine wasn't much fun either.

Getting ready for the last race of our TPTCC league for last
year(the famed Bullrun 1000).  I went about replacing my pots
on my old T2.  and I totally bollixed the job.  ended up with a
pedals that just wouldn't work and two out of 4 buttons disabled.
(anyone need a heart transplant!)
anyhow, I got the RMA and sent in this totally butchered unit
and got it back in about 7 days, same unit but a new cable placed
on it.  All the buttons worked, they replaced the bungee , like a brand
new wheel.  I have only good things to say about Thrustmaster.
(and don't ge me talking about my OLD OLD TM joystick and throttle!)

Try living I Australia. I have tried for over a year both through my local
dealer and through the companies head office in Melbourne to get a spare pot
and a spring for my T2. The local rep in Western Australia did nothing about
it for 9 months so I finally got onto their Melbourne Office two months ago
and they assured me they would send me some. Still nothing. Great service.
It sits on the floor in my computer room gathering dust. I went out and
bought a Thrustmaster Grand Prix wheel (which I prefer). I just want the
bits so I can sell the ***y thing.

Go through the site. I did, and they sent me a whole new wheel for my
GP1 (the wheel and paddles part, not the base). And all I was after
was the cord that goes from the wheel to the base!
Air mailed here to Sydney within 2 weeks!

I feel for your plight, but to keep up the good name of TM in the UK I will
relay my experience: Needed new steering pot for my TMF1, went to the website
where I'd ordered parts before for my old T2 but found that I could only get
springs.  Since I was there I ordered some of those (just in case - be
prepared...) emailed UK customer support that night asking where to buy a pot
from, next day got a reply stating that they'd include a steering wheel pot
in my springs order.  The package arrived two days later.

This is the reason I stuck with TM when I wanted to get a split axis
replacement for the T2.

I'm a fan.
