That one could use the Logitech or any other FF wheel with their existing
Nascar Pro Pedals. Is this true? If so, could someone let me know how it is
plugged in (both pedals and wheel to the back of the PC), how it is setup in
Windows 98, and how it is calibrated and setup in GPL. If possible, I may
buy the Logitech ...

Thanks,
Phillip

Another option is to replace the pedals with your TM pedals by removing the
wiring harness from the LWFF pedals and using it to rewire the TM pedals.
This will void any warrenty of course, but if you don't butcher the harness,
you can always put it back. There is a very good how-to written by Steve
Blankenship on Alison's GPL site.  http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/  look in
the Controllers / Reader's Reports page.

It's a very good wheel IMO, and with improved pedals it's almost perfect.

It's very simple ... the Logitech plugs into your USB or serial port.
So it can be simultaneously active with a gameport wheel. Then just
configure it in GPL - it doesn't care which axis & device you use for
any given function.

Note: this may not work in all games, but several people have reported
it works fine in GPL.

Yup, it's true.

The Nascar Pro stays connected to your gameport (you can remove the steering
unit if you want).

I got my LWFF this morning, set it up as per instructions (you have to keep
the LWFF pedals around... they provide power for the wheel) and ran the
installer (which updated the drivers and profiler automatically from the
web... neat!!). The LWFF is now device 1 in the Game Controller applet
(N-Pro is device 0). I got rid of the profiler as decribed by Sergey
Zakharov in his "Logitech FF & memory usage tip" message and fired up GPL.
It defaulted to the joystick(s) calibration screen, which now had two pages.
I recalibrated gas and brake (of the N-Pro) on page one and on the second
page, the steering wheel of the LWFF (axis 4 I think). All that was left for
me to do was to select the LWFF for steering and define it's button and
paddle fucntions. Bingo... few lines in the core.ini (see reply's to my
"Question for fellow LWFF users... <vbg>") and you're good to go.

BTW: if you were using an L4 to connect your N-Pro you're laughing all the
way, because it's V-Stick utility recognises the LWFF. With it you can mix
and match a controller for any game "on the fly", like, for instance,
Midtown Madness (only recognises resources from device 0 by default).

Good luck,

Jan./ your mileage may vary, of course.

Or you could just use the pedals that come with the unit. They just take a
little time to get used to.

Ya know, I heard from someone who has the peddles that....

If you put the Logitech wheel in the USB port and the T2 (pro) pedals in the
gameport both are seen by GPL.  You should put the Logitech wheel as joy#1 and
the PRO as joy#2 in the Control Panel/ Joysticks program.

This is what I heard ;-)

Anyone with this setup that can confirm?

Jason.

But... Can this be done for other games??

And if so, has anyone had any success ? If so which games ? SCGT, Toca2, N2,
ICR2, GP2, ???

I am also using my N Pro pedals and logitech FF wheel but unfortunately it only
works for GPL.  What is this L4 and V-stick utility stuff you refer to and will
it allow me to use this setup for other games?

The PDPI L4 is a dedicated, digital gameport (www.pdpi.net). The V-stick
utility comes with it's drivers (might be available for download seperately,
used to be anyway). It basically allows you to construct a custom, "virtual"
joystick, out of all the joysticks on your system. Mapping it's axis and
buttons to actual axis and buttons on the joysticks/wheels you got
connected. I don't know if it works without the card though.

Nope.  Randy said that it was easy to recognize all controllers attached
to
the system and it made his testing easier, that is why it works in GPL.
