This is from a reasonably good source but this is whats going on.
The game is finished and ready to ship, has been for a while, however
MP & SH finances are rather shakey (name a good product from either that
was released within the last 8 months)and Geoff Crammond is worried about
them going under taking his royalties with them.
G.C is asking for money upfront which of coarse MP/SH haven't got hence
the delay.
Don't be suprised if the game is released by another Company.

Of coarse all this is rumour but it you never know..anyway I,am always
a sucker when it comes to a *** theory.

Any theories as to why the game is still being worked upon (weather
effects are as yet undecided), the manuals being written and duplicated
and unfinished betas still being supplied to magazines?

Doesn't sound finished to me, but stranger things have happened.

Cheers!
John

I guess that the two of you don't read this group too often. There is a
message in this group with facts......

I've been told a similar thing from someone "in the know".
Is it true? I don't know.

Do *you* read this group very often? I recognise quite a few names of
regulars around here, and "John Wallace" is definitely one of those.

Geoff Crammond fell out with Microprose over something (not sure what),
and is sueing the company and has refused ever to work with them again. I
believe the trouble started when they were taken over by Spectrum
Holobyte. MPS has been run into the ground and is now very short of cash
and programmers (many have left, not just Crammond). There has been a
long thread regarding this and Falcon 4 on the flight-sim group.
