GPL crashes dsound.vxd ??

by Matthew Knutse » Tue, 02 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I have this weird problem, I don't really think it's GPLs fault:

I can't do training. If I do, when I hit the button to go to a track,
it loads, then throws me a win blue screen, saying there was a terminal
error in dsound.vxd(1).
Now, this didn't happen before..I've tried another dsound.vxd from an
old HD, and it worked one night, the next day it was the same.
Occasionally, the same crash occurs in a race (rarely), but often in
replays. Always when I want to do training.

Any ideas?
I'm running Win95 Osr2, my sound card is an Awe64 Value, with updated
drivers (they may be the cause..?)
I'm running some of patrick's sounds, but when the game loads training,
the crowd.wav is the first sound to be loaded?

Thanks for any help, please respond by mail.

All best,

Matt

Using Dx5 :-)
Dx6 gave me so much trouble....I fitted a new HD and reinstalled W95,
and never even thought about putting Dx6 in :)

Thanks,

Matt

What version of DirectX are you using? If its 6.1 I wonder if this just
another in a long line of problems with it....
