Welcome to the GANG!!!!!!!
That was about my first question EVER :)
Your bracket response to me is the painful answer.
Again only thing I figured out was to remove everybody. Yep everybody and put me in
first. In single player this works. I have no clue on this planet how to race MY CAR
in muliplayer mode. That is tonights task. Can you believe that?? I have made an
evening out for figuring out how to use my car in multiplayer mode. Honestly I'm
doubting I can do it. The manual is worse than no help because it's wrong.
Now if it happens to work like single player, which I'm doubting because I've seen
come contradicting stuff already, guess what this means for me?
Let me break it down.
So far I've made up about 12 cars for friends, basically what I did there was take a
scrub driver, rename him to a friends name. Modified in the paint shop by putting
their nicknames on the bumper and their initials on each side and if possibly on the
lower hood. This wasn't bad. One thing though the book says which is wrong, is that
you can change text sizes. WRONG!! You get one size and about 6 fonts. All the fonts
are of the large size, so I had to get a litte creative with their known nicknames.
Ok back to Car order.
Get this. In theory if it works like single player.
I'm first assuming each PC is gonna have to have the same list on it, so I'll need
to copy that. Not to bad.
But for each of the twelve drivers I'll have to have a seperate list for them.
For example if Dave and Mike and Lonnie play I have to have a order list premade for
them. If how Eric told me how N1 worked. The first player HOST takes the top spot,
the next person to log in takes 2 and finally the last guy takes three.
Well you do the math I have 12 total people with a 3 player combo. This is a big
number, really not possible. I just got this info from Eric how N1
worked, I actually wasn't even thinking this bad.
I was figuring I would need a list for each player on each pc. So 12
lists total for each pc. When Dave played he called up his list with
him on the top and Mike calls up his list on his cpu he's on the top of
that ect. ect. This was still bad enough. If it works like N1 than this
whole idea I had of racing your own car in multiplayer is screwed up.
It could work if you have just a couple people though.
But again the brain-dead way of doing this is to have a compatible list
on everybody's cpu (or better yet the host list is the official list)
and they go down the list and pick who they want to drive and then
play. I know call me demanding.
The problems we've been going over lately are exactly the same stuff
all SIERRA programs have. This game was rushed, I think we can use that
term now. I'll just take the game the way Papyrus has laid it out here
but working fully. I'll give up Arcade mode in Muliplayer, I'll give up
save, I'll give up any additional stuff. I just want what's supposed to
work working. That's all.
IMO
