Thanks for hosting Eldred. I hate not getting to the end of these things. I
used my standard MoG setup yet still blew the motor - can't see why :( Was
having a great dice with Jan as well - couple of loops at the hairpin but
nothing to worry about.

Thanks again

Thanks Eldred!  First time out in one of your full length GPs.  Practiced all
week, was feeling confident, qualified fourth and then overcooked it into turn
one on the third lap.  Upside down and the race was over for me....grrrrrr!

But I did spend time in the seat with Neil during his great dice with Jan...and
then Burke and Jan....that was a good one with Burke running literally mistake
free for 8 laps while he ran Jan down.

Great stuff....hope to do it again.

Well, THAT sucked...
Someone was warping BIG time in the first couple of laps.  One of those warps
put him in my lap, and my car went flying.  Landed on the wheels and stopped
spinning without hitting anything else.  Since I still had all 4 wheels on the
car, I drove off.  After a lap or two, I didn't notice any damage.  About 10
laps in, my engine blew on the back straight.  But, the official reason for
retirement was listed as 'accident', so I guess that collision DID damage
something.
2 mechanical DNF's in a row - I am NOT happy...

Congrats to Jan and Burke.  I didn't see which one of them won
unfortunately.  I was so elated at finishing the race that I took a
"victory" lap, and then just after I got back to the pits I got about one
sentence out in chat and then the server terminated.  Didn't get a chance to
save the replay either.  Oh well, live and learn, no cool down lap next
time.  I definitely could not do that every week, my back and neck are
killing me right now.  But I'm glad I tried and I'm glad I survived it!  Now
I just need a t-shirt "I survived a Rouen GP and all I got was this lousy
t-shirt!"  Thanks for hosting Eldred.  Sorry your race didn't go well.

That may have been me.  I was going around the bend and the next thing I
knew I was airbourne.  Sorry Eldred.

Peter won what turned out to be a fuel management race.  He was complaining
before the race that he didn't have a setup that would last the distance on
fuel.  That's a problem that I've *never* had, even using a Ferrari.  I wish
you had been able to check how much fuel you had left at the end of the race...
Jan, how about you - do you know how much you had left in the tank?

I don't even know where the fuel gauge is, but I didn't notice any loss of
power or sputtering.  I used 42 gal. to start with.  I also was lifting
early for most of the turns, just to make sure I stayed on the track, but
that also helps with fuel economy.  I drove very conservatively most of the
way.  After about 20 laps it was clear that I wasn't going to catch the guy
in front of me, and that the guy behind me wasn't going to catch me, so I
just concentrated on keeping it on the pavement.

I just realized one of the reasons I didn't run out of fuel is because I
finished 2 laps down, i.e. I ran about about 8 miles less than you guys.
See, sometimes it pays to be slow.  ;o)

Yeah, but it sounds like you wouldn't have had a problem if you filled up the
tank.  4 gals gets you a lot more than 2 laps.

If it's any comfort, I can assure you both were 100 per cent electronic  ;)

Probably the same guy who took me out on lap 2, I think I was about a second
behind you at the time.  I look forward to these races all year and then get
knocked out for no good reason.

Note to aggressive drivers:  If you join a two hour race and manage to spin
yourself into last place on the first lap, there's a good possibility that
you're a wild man and should show a little respect for the more mature drivers
around you rather than charging back through the field.

Note to warpers:  If all the cars on the screen are jumping and leaping around
every ten seconds, you might want to hang back a bit until your connection
improves or the others drop out.

Crap, I solved my VROC problem 2 days to late :(
Next full length race I'll be there! Is there one scheduled Eldred?
